New Hire Welcome Box
Package and Swag Design
Project Overview
My Role: Brand Designer
Timeline: 3 Months
Tools Used: Photoshop, Illustrator
Project Type: Package and Swag
Background: I had the opportunity to craft a warm, welcome box for new hires joining EAB. Inside new employees will find a welcome message from the Chief Talent Officer, the company’s values card, a newly branded spiral-bound notebook, a cup, and a stylish book bag. The contents inside the box that were chosen are connected to EAB’s primary mission of helping schools support students and bettering the community.
Goal: The goal was to not only provide new employees with a few of the tools they need to be successful in their new roles but to greet them in a way that sets the tone for EAB's wonderful workplace culture.
My Process
Like most design projects, everything begins with a kickoff meeting to make sure everyone involved is on the same page. Once we agreed on the project goals and deadlines—I started sourcing inspiration from Pinterest and Dribbble. Following that, I created a mood board and started sketching.
I created a presentation for the stakeholders to choose a final direction for me to move towards. I took the chosen direction and started creating a few rendered versions to help bring the designs to life.
Lastly, I created the final presentation for the stakeholders, this time with the renderings of the box, the notebook covers, and tip-in page designs. Once the final direction was chosen I made a few touch-up edits and prepared the art for production from our overseas vendor.
